ACMA is a leading packaging machinery manufacturer headquartered in Bologna, Italy. We seek a Software Engineer to join our Engineering and R&D department to manage projects from concept to completion and deliver industry-leading automation solutions for customers.

You will design controls software for automated machinery, collaborate with mechanical and R&D teams, and develop software across the machine life cycle, including simulations, testing, and documentation.

Competenze

• Minimum 5 years in a similar role in automation or controls.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in motion control and industrial machinery development.
• Experience with Schneider PLC programming; Rockwell/Beckhoff a plus.
• Interest in Digitalization and IIoT environments; organized and detail-oriented.
• Team player with good communication; willing to travel; fluent in English.

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Engineering and R&D department, managing projects from concept to completion, and building industry-leading solutions for our customers.

As a Software Engineer, you will:

• Design automation software solutions for controls of automated machinery lines;
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering dept. and R&D dept with a focus on software design and mechatronics, performing functional analysis on machines, based on customer's URS and on new machinery technical specifications;
• Develop software for the entire machine life cycle, including design, development, production, and maintenance, ensuring software compliance with customer's requirements;
• Execute simulations, debug, and testing machines, both before machine installation and at customers' sites;
• Draft relevant technical documentation.

What You Need to Be Successful

• You have at least 5 Years of experience in a similar position
• You have a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Automation/ Electrical/ Computer Engineering or related fields
• Solid experience in motion control and the development of complex industrial machinery or equipment.
• Experience with Schneider PLC programming is required. Exposure to Rockwell and/or Beckhoff is a plus, with opportunities to develop expertise in these platforms over time.
• You will have the opportunity to work on applications related to Digitalization and Industrial IoT (IIoT) environments.

Our Offer

Compensation for this role includes a base salary starting from EUR 44,400, in line with experience. The actual offer may exceed this minimum based on the candidate's qualifications and fit for the role.

A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy.

The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
