Reply is seeking a Senior Engineer in Italy to design and deliver Agentic AI and GenAI solutions. You will lead architecture, production release, and cross-team collaboration with a focus on measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/CE or related field.
• 3–5 years in software development or ML/AI.
• 1–2 years on LLM-based projects and agentic solutions deployed to production.
• Excellent Python and frameworks for agentic systems (LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen).
• Knowledge of multi-agent orchestration, routing, and state management.
• Experience with guardrails, prompt engineering, and security against prompt injection.
• Familiarity with RAG architectures and trade-offs.
• Experience in building scalable, observable, cost-efficient systems.
• High-level knowledge of cloud services.

WHAT WE OFFER

The compensation package will be determined based on your professional background, technical skills, expertise, and the level of responsibility associated with the role. The collective labour agreement (CCNL) mainly applied within Reply is the Italian Metalworking Industry Agreement (Metalmeccanico). The job classification will be assessed starting from level B2, and the gross annual salary (RAL) will range from €34,000 to €65,000. Previous experience with cutting-edge technologies such as Quantum Computing, Physical AI, Agentic AI, Foundation Model and LLM training, fine-tuning, and optimization will be considered a strong asset.

WHAT WE NEED

• Academic background. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Technical & strategic skills. At least 3–5 years of experience in software development or ML/AI, including at least 1–2 years on LLM-based projects and agentic solutions deployed to production. Excellent command of Python and of the main frameworks for building agentic systems (e.g. LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen). Ability to design multi-agent systems: orchestration, routing between specialised agents, conversational state management; Prompt engineering and evaluation of LLM systems (ground truth, relevance metrics, regression testing); Implementation of guardrails and attention to system security, including protection against prompt injection; In-depth knowledge of RAG architectures (hybrid and vector-based) and the ability to assess their trade-offs; Ability to build systems with scalability, resilience, observability and cost in mind; API design (REST, SSE streaming), interface contracts and versioning; Ability to identify architectural inconsistencies and resolve them together with the DevOps team and the client; High-level knowledge of the main cloud services. Full professional proficiency in English for daily client interactions and technical documentation.
• Soft skills. Ability to listen to clients and analyse their needs, understanding their business goals and turning them into clear, actionable requirements; Ability to act as the client's technical point of reference with a critical eye: managing expectations, dependencies and blockers, and communicating risks and trade-offs; Autonomy and ownership: ability to make technical decisions and stand behind them.
