Job summary

VRS Recruitment is seeking a Product Technical Specialist / Field Service Engineer for a Milan-area role focused on scanning electron microscopy. You will install, commission and maintain high-value SEM/FIB-SEM systems for academic and industrial labs, traveling across Lombardy and beyond.

The position offers a permanent contract and a gross annual salary of 30–40K€, with higher compensation for more senior profiles, plus benefits. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or bachelor’s in engineering or physics is a good starting point.
• Good command of technical English.
• Experience with scientific instrumentation and vacuum systems is desirable.
• Willingness to travel across Northern Italy and occasionally elsewhere.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission SEM/FIB-SEM systems at customer sites.
• Perform maintenance, diagnose faults and repair on advanced instruments.
• Support users with technical questions and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Travel approximately 70–75% of the time within Lombardy and Northern Italy.
