Job summary

ABB, a global robotics leader, is seeking a seasoned Data Analytics professional for Internal Audit in Italy. You will collaborate with the Data Analytics team to prep data, develop repeatable analytics, and identify control weaknesses. You will document methods and present insights through visualizations and clear reporting, supporting AI-enabled audit processes and automation.

Fluency in English is required. A hybrid work model is offered in Italy.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in data analytics or data science, preferably within Internal Audit, risk, controls, or a comparable assurance environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience preparing, validating, and analyzing complex datasets.
• Understanding of statistical methods including clustering, forecasting, and classification.
• Experience translating business risks into analytical requirements and communicating results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data lakes or cloud data platforms and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with ability to work independently.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

This Position Reports To

Head of Internal Audit

The Work Model For The Role Is

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Obtaining and preparing data in collaboration with the Data Analytics team, addressing data-accuracy and completeness issues before further analysis.
• Developing and executing repeatable analytics to support operational, financial, and compliance audits, identifying anomalies, patterns, and potential control weaknesses.
• Documenting analytical methods, assumptions, limitations, and results to ensure analyses are traceable, reproducible, and suitable for use as audit evidence.
• Validating analytical results with audit teams and business stakeholders, and communicating insights clearly through visualizations (dashboards) and concise reporting.
• Support the development of AI-enabled audit processes, including the automation of audit programs and testing activities

Qualifications For The Role

• A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in data analytics or data science, preferably within Internal Audit, risk, controls, or a comparable assurance environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience preparing, validating, and analyzing complex datasets.
• A sound understanding of statistical and analytical methods, including clustering, forecasting, and classification.
• Experience translating business risks and audit questions into analytical requirements, and explaining technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with data lakes or cloud data platforms, and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Additional Experience That Would Be An Advantage

• Snowflake and Azure Data Factory.
• Machine-learning tools and techniques, such as XGBoost, LightGBM, and k-means.
• Streamlit or similar tools for presenting analytical results.
• Practical application of AI to analytics or audit activities.
• A relevant master’s degree or postgraduate qualification.

• Minimum annual salary: €67.000
• Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus
