Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced security-focused engineer to join a remote-first engineering team building cloud-native infrastructure. You will lead penetration testing, threat modeling, and secure design reviews for Kubernetes environments, while contributing production-grade Go code to strengthen container isolation and security across our platform.

Qualifications

• Hands-on penetration testing experience in production systems.
• Deep Kubernetes security expertise including container isolation, RBAC, and policy configurations.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals (API server, controllers, kubelet).
• Experience building Kubernetes controllers/operators with controller-runtime, Kubebuilder, or client-go.
• Threat modeling, secure system design, and reviewing production architectures for security risks.
• Proven ability to investigate and remediate vulnerabilities, familiar with CVE lifecycle and security patches.
• Professional Go programming experience for production systems.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals and secure development practices.
• Clear communication of complex security risks to engineers and stakeholders.
• Proactive, independent problem-solver with ownership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Penetration testing and security assessments of products and infrastructure.
• Threat modeling and secure design reviews early in the development lifecycle.
• Analyze Kubernetes attack surfaces and strengthen policy configurations.
• Review code and architecture for security issues and robust engineering.
• Collaborate to embed secure defaults and security checks across the product lifecycle.
• Contribute production-quality Go code and secure infrastructure components.
• Explain vulnerabilities and remediation priorities to engineering teams.
• Lead continuous security improvement across platforms.
