Abylsen is seeking a Mechanical System Engineer to join our Rail Engineering Unit in Italy, focusing on development and integration of gangway and inter-vehicle connection subsystems for railway vehicles. You will define and verify mechanical subsystem requirements in line with railway standards and project specifications.

You will collaborate with design, RAMS, safety and validation teams, coordinate V&V activities, and participate in design reviews and technical meetings.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience or knowledge of System Engineering applied to mechanical systems.
• Experience in requirements management, interface definition, mechanical integration, and V&V.
• Knowledge of mechanical/kinematic interfaces, loads, movements, installation constraints, and operating conditions.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in technical English.
• Experience in the railway industry and knowledge of gangway, coupler, or inter-vehicle connection systems is a plus.

Mansioni

• Define, manage, and verify mechanical subsystem requirements in compliance with railway standards and project specifications.
• Support the integration of mechanical subsystems into railway vehicles, managing mechanical, kinematic, structural, and functional interfaces.
• Contribute to subsystem architecture, configuration, and operating modes.
• Coordinate Verification & Validation activities, including functional, mechanical, and integration testing.
• Act as the technical reference for assigned subsystems, interfacing with customers, suppliers, designers, and project teams.
• Participate in Design Reviews and technical meetings.
• Collaborate with Requirements Management, Mechanical Design, RAMS, Safety, Validation, and Manufacturing teams.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, interface documentation, test procedures, and verification reports.
