Job summary

Bolton Food Innovations, Development & Quality in Cermenate, Italy is seeking an R&D Manager to lead product innovation within our Global R&D team. You will drive new concepts from idea to industrialization, ensuring feasibility, quality and regulatory compliance while developing your team.

Reporting to the Global R&D Director Food, you will manage cross-functional projects with Marketing, Quality and Operations, apply strong technical knowledge in food science and technologies, and mentor

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science and Technology or related field.
• 5–10 years of R&D/product development experience in the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food technologies, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead and develop others through cross-functional collaboration.

R&D Manager

We are looking for an R&D Manager to join our Global R&D team at Bolton Food, in our plant of Cermenate.

How you make the difference

As R&D Manager, you will drive product innovation and development, exploring new concepts, technologies and categories to address evolving consumer needs and unlock new growth opportunities. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative product ideas from concept to industrialization, ensuring technical feasibility and product quality while supporting the development of your team.

How Your Agenda Looks Like

• Product Innovation & Development: Manage product innovation and development projects, exploring new product concepts and categories in line with consumer needs, market trends and business opportunities.
• Research & Innovation: Identify and assess new technologies, ingredients and product solutions, contributing to the development of innovative concepts and future growth opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Quality, Operations and other relevant functions to translate product briefs into feasible solutions and ensure alignment throughout the development process.
• Project Management & Industrialization: Coordinate product development activities from concept to industrialization, monitoring project progress and ensuring technical feasibility, product quality and compliance with applicable standards.

Your Team

You will report directly to the Global R&D Director Food.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Education: Degree in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology or a related scientific field.
• Work Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience in R&D and product development within the food industry, ideally including experience in product innovation and the development of new product categories.
• Technical Skills: Strong expertise in food product development and R&D processes. Solid understanding of food technologies, product quality, and applicable regulatory requirements, with the ability to identify and assess new technologies and develop innovative product solutions.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management, cross-functional collaboration, proactive mindset and ability to lead and develop others.
• Languages: Fluent in both Italian and English.
