ABB söker en mekanikkonstruktör i en roll som innebär utveckling av nästa generations People Protection‑produkter. Du arbetar i en tvärvetenskaplig miljö med mekanisk design, simulering och prototyper, samt använder digitala metoder och AI‑verktyg för att påskynda utvecklingen.

Du bidrar från koncept till validering, skapar CAD‑modeller och dokumentation, samarbetar över funktioner och anpassar lösningar till krav på kvalitet och kostnad. Hybrid arbetsmodell erbjuds.

Competenze

• Masterexamen i mekanisk teknik eller motsvarande utbildning.
• Du kommunicerar flytande på italienska och engelska.
• Erfarenhet av 3D CAD‑verktyg; CATIA V5/Creo är mycket meriterande.
• Grundläggande kunskaper i ingenjörssimulering (strukturell, termisk eller multiphysik).
• Intresse för AI‑tillämpningar i ingenjörsarbete och produktutveckling.
• Kännedom om SAP och PLM (Windchill) ses som fördel.
• Bokstavlig kompetens i Microsoft Office.

Technical Product Manager

Your role and responsibilities

You will contribute to the development of ABB's next generation People Protection products, supporting the evolution of our RCCB platform and helping transform innovative concepts into reliable products used worldwide. You will work in a multidisciplinary R&D environment, combining mechanical design, engineering simulations, prototyping and testing activities. You will also have the opportunity to leverage digital engineering methodologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to accelerate product development, improve engineering efficiency and support technical decision-making.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:

• Working as a reliable contributor in R&D projects for the development and evolution of ABB's RCCB platform, supporting projects from concept definition through product validation.
• Designing innovative electromechanical solutions for next-generation protection devices, from concept development and 3D CAD modelling to simulation, prototyping, testing and product validation.
• Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models, assemblies and technical documentation using CATIA V5 and Creo.
• Performing engineering studies and simulations to optimize product performance, robustness, reliability and manufacturability.
• Supporting prototype assembly, laboratory testing and validation activities in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Applying digital engineering methodologies and exploring AI-powered tools to improve product development processes and engineering productivity.
• Collaborating with Mechanical, Electrical, Testing, Manufacturing and Quality teams to deliver innovative and competitive solutions.
• Identifying technical risks and supporting project objectives related to quality, cost and timing.
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies, engineering methods and industry trends.
  

Qualifications for the role

• Good knowledge of mechanical design principles and product development processes.
• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering qualification.
• You are at ease communicating fluently in Italian and English.
• Experience with 3D CAD design tools; knowledge of CATIA V5 and/or Creo is highly appreciated.
• Basic knowledge of engineering simulation tools and methods, including structural, thermal or multiphysics analysis.
• Interest in Artificial Intelligence applications for engineering, simulation and product development.
• Knowledge of MATLAB is considered a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP and PLM (Windchill) environments is considered a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Compensation Package

As part of our commitment to transparency, we want to share the compensation details for this position:

Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico

Minimum annual salary: € 36.000,00

Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus
