The Gund Company in Italy’s Marche region seeks a Corporate Engineering R&D Technician to support material and product development. You will lead external testing projects and provide internal lab testing services to engineering, sales, global sourcing and manufacturing teams.

You will design, develop, modify products and report on tests, while maintaining logs, updating test reports, and liaising with external facilities and certification agencies to validate projects.

Competenze

• Associate degree or equivalent with broad engineering knowledge.
• 2–3 years of work experience with laboratory material testing.
• Knowledge of product design and development and liaison with customers/compliance agencies is a plus.
• CAD/CAM experience is a plus, CAD tools proficiency preferred.

Mansioni

• Liaise with external test facilities and certification agencies.
• Provide testing support to development engineers on project validation IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Support sales and marketing on benchmarking and reverse engineering.

Job Summary

• The Corporate Engineering R&D Technician is a key resource in the Material and Product Development Processes to support business growth. The person shall lead external testing and certification projects. The individual will also provide internal laboratory testing service to the Engineering and Marketing Teams; Sales Teams/Customers; Global Sourcing Team and Manufacturing Facilities.
• Responsible for the design, development, alteration or modification of a particular line or type of product. Evaluates and reports on new devices, patents, or competitive items. Has latitude for independent and original action and decision plus some administrative and executive ability.

Summary of essential Job Functions

• Liaise and Co-ordinate work with External Test Facilities, Standard and Certification Agencies
• Provide Testing Support to the Development Engineers on Project Validation, IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Provide Testing Support to Sales and Marketing Teams on Bench-Marking and Reverse Engineering.
• Provide Testing Support to Global Business Team on Materials Qualification.
• Provide Testing Support to Facilities’ ongoing Material Test Plans.
• Maintain and Update Test Logs and Prepare Test Reports
• Maintain Internal Testing Facility
• Develop in-depth knowledge of product and material standards relating to the company’s market development plans and growth model

Other Duties as Needed

• Assist Development Engineers to help facilitate project completion.

Requirements

Qualifications & Competencies

• Associate Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field or equivalent work experience and on the job training
• Requires comprehensive technical ability and experience in a broad engineering field,
• 2 to 3 years of work experience with laboratory material testing
• Product design and development, customer and compliance agency liaison experience a plus
• Plastic and/or composites processing experience a plus.
• Machine shop experience a plus
• CAD/CAM experience a plus
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization
• Strong information systems skills including the use of business systems and Microsoft Office software
• Strong problem solving skills with people, processes and equipment.
• Ability to communicate and provide product training to sales and service, marketing team a plus

Work Environment

The work environment is typical of most office environments; occasionally, the position will be required to be on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
