Job summary

Bonatti is seeking a Quality Inspector Civil to join the on-site team in Italy. You will oversee quality assurance and control for civil and structural works, aligning with project drawings, specifications, and regulations.

You will work directly with the construction crew and the QA/QC Manager to ensure safe, compliant execution and thorough documentation of inspections, tests, and reports, supporting the overall project quality objectives.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in civil/structural works.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and contractual docs to ensure proper execution of civil works.
• Perform preliminary inspections and in-process checks.
• Conduct inspections and tests per ITP and standards.
• Verify compliance with design drawings and specs.
• Inspect piling installation for positioning and bearing capacity.
• Monitor site activities against QC plans and QA/QC procedures.
• Prepare inspection reports, test records, and traceability documentation.
• Support QA/QC Manager in updating quality procedures.
• Monitor progress against construction schedule and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures and regulations.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Quality Inspector Civil for our pipeline project in Italy.

The candidate will be responsible for quality assurance and quality control activities related to civil and structural works, ensuring that all works comply with quality standards, contractual specifications, project drawings, and applicable regulations.

The successful candidate will work directly on site, collaborating with the construction team and the QA/QC Manager to ensure the proper execution of activities and compliance with quality and safety requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check and review technical drawings, project specifications, and contractual documentation to ensure the proper execution of civil works.
• Carry out preliminary inspections and in-process checks to verify that installed materials and construction activities comply with the required standards.
• Perform inspections and tests in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), project specifications, and applicable technical standards.
• Verify that all works are executed in compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Inspect piling installation activities to verify pile positioning and compliance with specified bearing capacity requirements.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with quality control plans and QA/QC procedures.
• Prepare inspection reports, test records, and periodic reports, ensuring the traceability of all quality control activities.
• Support the QA/QC Manager in preparing and updating quality procedures and documentation.
• Monitor work progress against the contractual construction schedule and key project milestones.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (HSE) procedures, project requirements, and applicable regulations, contributing to the prevention of incidents and accidents.

Requirements:

• Technical diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 3-5 years of related work experience in the field of quality assurance and quality control.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, QA/QC procedures, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive working environment.
