Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Plant Chemist in Italy to enhance product quality and production efficiency. The role involves monitoring production, coordinating lab batches, and driving root-cause investigations to prevent defects. You will maintain formulations, implement SOPs, and support material specifications.

The position requires strong communication, problem solving, and a track record in operations or quality. A flexible schedule and exposure to ISO standards are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in Operations, Quality, or Technical.
• Flexible work schedule.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (preferred).
• Presentations skills (preferred).
• ISO knowledge (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Minitab and Business Objects (preferred).
• Root cause investigation and analysis tools knowledge (preferred).
• System knowledge of Watson, MES, Product Vision, Discovery and MES (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Ensure and improve product quality and production efficiency.
• Monitor new production and communicate problems to Operations and Control Lab.
• Coordinate test batches with production and scheduling.
• Maintain local formulas in formulation system.
• Drive improvements around key metrics (OTMIS, distressed, recall).
• Lead or participate in quality investigations to determine root cause.
• Develop SOPs and train QC personnel.
• Manage new formula introductions and raw material acceptance.

Job Description

The Plant Chemist is accountable for ensuring and improving product quality and production efficiency

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Responsibilities

• The Plant Chemist is accountable for ensuring and improving product quality and production efficiency under supervision and through
• Monitors all new production and communicates potential problems to Operations and Control Lab.
• Ensures manufacturability through lab batches and following production batches as needed.
• Identifies process and formula changes needed for successful manufacturing of existing formulas.
• Identifies process and quality problems to determine systematic root cause and follows through with corrective action.
• Coordinates test batches with production and scheduling.
• Maintains local formulas in formulation system.
• Drive improvements around primary metric OTMIS, distressed, and recall goals.
• Lead and or participate in quality investigations to determine root cause.
• Develop standard operating procedures and provide training to QC personnel to ensure procedures are followed.
• Manages new formula introduction and plant manufacturability acceptance
• Manage in raw material acceptance/rejection based on raw material specification
• Ensure timely resolution of distressed batches and rework\/returned goods.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• 5 + years experience in Operations, Quality, or Technical
• Flexible work schedule
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated problem solving, project management, Change Management, Conflict Management, and coaching skills
• ISO knowledge

• System knowledge of Watson, MES, Product Vision, Discovery, and MES.
