Emeren Group is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Milan team to support solar and storage projects, interfacing with engineering, legal and financial teams. You will help manage development up to RTB status, conduct site visits, and assist with budget control and stakeholder coordination.

The role offers exposure to international projects, collaboration with a diverse team, and opportunities to learn through hands-on experience under a senior profile.

Competenze

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or Management Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in project development and/or project engineering.
  • Basic technical understanding of renewable energy infrastructures and BESS.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in solar PV and/or BESS projects, including the project development process in Italy is a nice to have.
  • Experience with permitting processes, including for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of the electricity market in Italy is a plus, including interaction with grid operators (TERNA and E-distribuzione).
  • Fully accustomed to working in an international corporate environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Emeren Group is a leading global solar project developer, owner, and operator with a pipeline of projects and IPP assets totaling over 3 GW, as well as a storage pipeline of over 10 GWh across Europe, North America, and Asia. The Company focuses on solar power project development, construction management and project financing services with local professional teams in more than 10 countries around the world.

Emeren’s Italy team is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Milan, Italy, in order to support Emeren’s rapidly growing solar and storage business and contribute to the transition to a low carbon, sustainable economy.

The Project Engineer will work in tandem with a senior profile, in order to acquire autonomy and learn by doing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support in managing projects and interfacing with engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil and environmental), legal and financial teams and ensuring that pre-established delivery times are respected;
  • Managing project development up to RTB status, including site visits, risk assessment (technical and economic), vendor management, interaction with the permitting authorities;
  • Managing the development budget and controlling costs and cash flow within it;
  • Reporting on the progress of assigned projects in the pipeline;
  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders, including development partners, public entities (state, regional and local), traders and landowners;
  • Supporting the preparation of proposals for clients such as due diligence, technical advisory, and other service offerings, and providing inputs for the Emeren internal approval process with the Investment Committee;
  • Preparing and managing specifications, tendering, negotiation and selection of Engineering, Procurement, Operation & Maintenance (O&M), EPC and other supply contracts;
  • Attending internal and external meetings and representing Emeren in a suitable fashion according to the company code of conduct at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or Management Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in project development and/or project engineering
  • Basic technical understanding of renewable energy infrastructures and BESS
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in solar PV and/or BESS projects, including the project development process in Italy is a nice to have
  • Experience with permitting processes, including for large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of the electricity market in Italy is a plus, including but not limited to interaction with grid operators (TERNA and E-distribuzione), knowledge of the Italian regulation for permitting (AU, PAUR and PAS)
  • Fully accustomed to working in an international corporate environment with very good interpersonal and communication skills, strictly following internal processes, respecting compliance policies, etc.
