Leap29 is seeking a Project Delivery Manager to lead a portfolio of utility-scale Solar PV projects, from authorisation through COD. The role focuses on delivering large-scale solar developments with EPC/owner's engineer coordination, grid connection approvals and strong stakeholder engagement.

You will oversee cross-functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, and drive project outcomes in a fast-paced renewable energy environment in Italy.

Project Delivery Manager – Utility-Scale Solar PV

An established renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced Project Delivery Manager to lead the successful execution of a substantial portfolio of utility scale Solar PV projects.

With a strong pipeline of Solar projects, you will play a critical role in taking projects from authorisation through to COD. While the portfolio also includes BESS and selected wind projects, the primary focus of this role is the successful delivery of large-scale solar developments.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a high-impact position for a delivery-focused professional who can navigate complex permitting processes, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive projects through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of utility-scale Solar PV projects from authorisation through construction to COD.
• Manage project execution across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate internal project teams and external consultants, contractors and EPC partners.
• Drive secondary permitting activities, particularly grid connection approvals and associated stakeholder engagement.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, utilities, grid operators and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks and delivery milestones.
• Resolve technical, commercial and permitting challenges to maintain programme delivery.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously across different stages of development and execution.
• Provide regular project reporting and delivery updates to senior leadership.

Technical Skillset

The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge across utility-scale Solar PV project delivery, including:

• End-to-end delivery of utility-scale Solar PV projects.
• Extensive experience taking projects from permitting through construction and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of secondary permitting and grid connection processes.
• Knowledge of utility-scale Solar PV plant design and construction.
• Experience managing EPC contractors and owner's engineer relationships.
• Understanding of electrical infrastructure, substations and high-voltage grid connections.
• Familiarity with civil, structural and electrical interfaces on solar projects.
• Experience coordinating procurement of major project equipment.
• Strong project planning, scheduling and resource management skills.Budget management, cost control and contract administration experience.
• Risk identification, mitigation and issue resolution throughout project execution.
• Strong knowledge of HSE, quality and compliance requirements for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Experience using project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is advantageous.

About You

You are an experienced project delivery professional with a proven ability to deliver complex Solar PV projects in demanding environments.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience within a renewable energy developer IPP, EPC contractor or similar project delivery organisation.
• A successful track record delivering utility-scale Solar PV projects from authorisation through to COD.
• Strong experience managing grid connection and secondary permitting activities.
• The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a hands-on approach to project delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging local authorities, utilities and external partners.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to resolve complex project challenges.
• A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with BESS or wind projects would be beneficial but is not essential.
