Job summary

FAO in Rome seeks a Programme Officer to manage and monitor key programmes in the NFO unit. You will participate in planning, budgeting and reporting, and contribute to policy development and knowledge sharing.

The role requires an advanced degree and five years of related experience, with strong writing and communication skills in English and an FAO language. Fixed-term contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field and five years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language.
• Ability to plan, implement and evaluate programmes and projects.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
• Monitors and analyses programme delivery and proposes corrective actions.
• Assists in policy development and impact assessment studies.
• Prepares background papers and reports on assigned topics.
• Undertakes outreach activities, training workshops and presentations.
• Coordinates budgeting and reporting for programme activities.
