Job summary

Simonelli Group in Belforte del Chienti (MC), Italy, seeks a Production Planner to coordinate production activities, balance demand with material availability, and optimize resources to deliver on time. The role reports to the Production Manager and involves MES oversight, scheduling, and collaboration with purchasing and warehouse teams.

The ideal candidate has a engineering degree and experience in production planning, with strong English skills (B2) and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in production planning in manufacturing.
• Proficient in English (minimum B2).
• Strong PC skills with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the finished goods sales order backlog and coordinate with Customer Service regarding constrained delivery dates.
• Plan production through the scheduling system to meet delivery deadlines.
• Decide whether to increase or reduce production capacity and allocate workforce across warehouses and production lines.
• Upload machine setups when a new machine family is created.
• Release production order dates for picking of raw materials and semi-finished goods.
• Review and approve MRP-generated proposals.
• Create production orders for finished goods to be stocked and manage order statuses.
• Create internal picking lists for raw materials and semi-finished goods warehouses.
• Generate subcontracting orders, production orders, and spare parts orders.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to expedite subcontracted operations.
• Oversee the MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
• Monitor warehouse shipments with Customer Service to meet shipping dates.
• Liaise with raw materials warehouse to resolve day-to-day issues.
• Work with Production Manager on workforce allocation and batch scheduling.
• Coordinate with external subcontractors producing finished goods.
• Coordinate year-end inventory with external auditors and provide documentation.
• Coordinate with Accounting on subcontractor invoices and pricing discrepancies.

We are looking for a Production Planner that will be responsible for ensuring the effective coordination of production activities by balancing customer demand, material availability, and production capacity. The role will focus on delivering products on time while optimizing resources and maintaining alignment with company operational objectives.

We are looking for a Production Planner that will be responsible for ensuring the effective coordination of production activities by balancing customer demand, material availability, and production capacity. The role will focus on delivering products on time while optimizing resources and maintaining alignment with company operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the finished goods sales order backlog and coordinate with Customer Service regarding constrained delivery dates
• Plan production through the scheduling system, with the primary objective of meeting delivery deadlines
• In agreement with the Supply Chain Manager, decide whether to increase or reduce production capacity and allocate workforce accordingly across both the warehouse and production lines
• Upload machine setups whenever a new machine family is created
• Manage, once or twice a week, the release of updates to production order dates required for the picking of raw materials and semi-finished goods from the warehouse
• Review and approve proposals automatically generated by the MRP system
• Create production orders for finished goods to be stockedChange order statuses from "Confirmed" to "Released"
• Create internal picking lists for raw materials and semi-finished goods warehouses
• Generate subcontracting orders, production orders, and spare parts orders
• Coordinate with the Purchasing Department to expedite subcontracted operations
• Oversee the MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
• Monitor warehouse shipments through daily alignment with Customer Service to ensure compliance with committed shipping dates
• Liaise with the raw materials warehouse, supporting the resolution of day-to-day operational issues
• Work closely with the Production Manager to determine workforce allocation on production lines and to advance or postpone production batches according to material availability
• Manage and coordinate external subcontractors producing finished goods
• Coordinate the year-end inventory count from an organizational perspective, working with external auditors and providing the required documentation
• Coordinate with the Accounting Department regarding subcontractor purchase invoices, including extra costs and any supplier pricing discrepancies or data-entry errors

Key Competencies And Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Previous experience in Production Planning within a manufacturing environment
• Good proficiency in English (minimum B2 level)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
