ABB is seeking a Production Engineer to optimize production processes and equipment, enhancing productivity and ensuring alignment with quality, efficiency and safety objectives. You will define sequencing for new processes and support start-ups, driving value across cost and investment targets.

The role requires strong Italian and English, CAD/Office skills, and experience in automation; C# / .NET and AI experience are a plus. The position offers hybrid work arrangements in Rome, Italy.

Competenze

• Master degree in Mechanical, Automation or Mechatronic engineering.
• Experience in production process design or automation is a plus.
• Italian and English proficiency; strong Office skills and CAD knowledge.
• Familiarity with C# and .NET; AI applications are a plus.

Mansioni

• Identify and implement improvements to production processes and equipment to boost productivity, quality, cost, and safety.
• Define work phase sequences for new production processes to meet product cost and investment targets.
• Support start-up of processes/equipment and provide training to maintenance and production staff.

This position reports to:

Production Engineering Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to optimize the Production processes and equipment to maximize productivity in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production solutions enhancing automatization and granting optimized equipment performance. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.

Work model for the role is:

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:

• Identifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
• Approving and/or editing the design for processes developed internally or externally, performing final tests with respect to the project and providing support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.
• Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices. Developing sensibility to solutions that best fit with production environment.
• Investigate and develop innovative production technology introduction, leveraging on Industry 5.0 approach.

Qualifications For The Role

• Mechanic, Automation or Mechatronic engineering master degree.
• Experience in production process design or automation is a plus.
• It’s requested a very good knowledge of Italian and English, Good knowledge of Office package and knowledge of modelling and simulation programs, knowledge of CAD programs.
• Familiarity with Programming Languages in particular C# and .NET, familiarity with AI applications e.g. computer vision is a plus.
• Knowledge of Italian and English, both written and spoken.
• Team-working attitude and good communication skills.

Compensation Package

Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico

Minimum annual salary: € 33.000,00

Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus
