Expert Executive Recruiters (EER Global) is seeking a hands-on Production and Configuration Engineer for Milano on-site to industrialise engines, document configurations, and establish controlled technical documentation.

You will translate shop-floor knowledge into structured BOMs, drawings, work instructions, and manuals, coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure repeatability and manufacturability across engines and assemblies.

• Must have 3+ years in production/manufacturing engineering or configuration management.
• Must be able to create and update 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and related documentation.
• Must build and maintain structured BOMs aligned with drawings and production realities.
• Fluent Italian and good English for cross-functional collaboration.

• Support creation/update of ATPs, inspection criteria, acceptance documents, and production test documentation.

• Prepare work instructions, assembly instructions, technical specifications, and production documentation.

• Document ECO/ECN changes and ensure alignment between Engineering, Production and Quality.

Production and Configuration Engineer – Aerospace Engines – Milano (On-Site)

Our client is an international aerospace manufacturing company seeking a hands‑on Production and Configuration Engineer to support the industrialisation, documentation, configuration control, and manufacturing readiness of its engine products.

This is not a pure design role and not a production supervision role. It is a practical engineering role for someone who can translate real products, assemblies, drawings, manufacturing knowledge, and shop‑floor experience into controlled technical documentation.

The company is entering a major growth and factory relocation phase, and this role will be important in building the technical foundation required for the next stage: structured BOMs, reliable drawings, controlled configurations, work instructions, technical specifications, engine manuals, and production documentation.

Job Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain 3D models, mechanical assemblies, production drawings, and assembly drawings.
• Support Engineering and Quality in creating and updating ATPs, inspection criteria, acceptance documents, and production test documentation.
• Prepare and maintain structured BOMs for engines, assemblies, and mechanical systems.
• Define functional tolerances for CNC‑machined parts and mechanical assemblies.
• Prepare work instructions, assembly instructions, technical specifications, and production documentation.
• Write and update engine manuals and technical literature based on input from Engineering, Production, and Quality.
• Support and maintain configuration control by updating drawings, BOMs, documents, and revision records.
• Support ECO/ECN activities by documenting configuration changes and ensuring alignment between Engineering, Production, and Quality.
• Identify and close gaps between the actual production process and released technical documentation.
• Capture and formalise practical production knowledge from experienced technicians into controlled technical documentation.
• Develop and maintain document templates, naming conventions, revision practices, and standard document structures.
• Work with technicians on the shop floor to understand real assembly, machining, and production constraints.
• Support the improvement of existing products in terms of manufacturability, repeatability, and documentation control.

Requirements

• MUST: Minimum 3 years of proven experience in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, technical documentation, mechanical assemblies, or configuration management.
• MUST: Strong CAD capability — ability to create and update 3D models, assemblies, drawings, exploded views, tolerances, and technical documentation.
• MUST: Ability to build and maintain BOMs in alignment with drawings, assemblies, and production reality.
• MUST: Fluent Italian and conversational English.
• Advantage: Good understanding of CNC machining, mechanical assemblies, industrial machines, motors, or complex mechanical products.
• Advantage: Experience with ERP, PDM, or PLM systems (e.g. Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia).
• Advantage: Experience in aerospace, foundry, casting, small‑series production, or high‑mix manufacturing.
• Education: Degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field.
