ZAPI GROUP, a global leader in electrification, seeks a Product Manager to oversee the portfolio lifecycle and drive the product development roadmap across Marketing, Business Development, Sales, R&D and Operations. The role requires technical understanding, market insight and autonomous initiative within an industrial B2B context.

The ideal candidate will translate market needs into clear requirements, build business cases, and monitor performance while collaborating with global teams.

For our Group Headquarters, we are looking for a Product Manager reporting to the Global Product Portfolio Director.

The role is responsible for managing ZAPI’s product portfolio throughout its lifecycle, as well as defining and driving the product development roadmap, acting as a bridge between the commercial organization - Marketing, Business Development, and Sales - and the execution teams - R&D and Operations.

The ideal candidate combines technical understanding, market perspective, and business acumen; builds influence through a collaborative approach with stakeholders; is comfortable navigating evolving contexts and helping bring structure where needed; proactively takes ownership of initiatives, delivering results with a high degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the assigned product portfolio lifecycle, from opportunity assessment to phase out.
• Define and maintain product roadmaps with R&D, Sales, Operations and other relevant functions.
• Gather customer and market needs and translate them into product requirements, value propositions and development priorities.
• Develop business cases for new products, variants and initiatives.
• Monitor portfolio performance and recommend corrective actions (such as platform reuse, variant reduction, portfolio simplification, cost-down initiatives, …).
• Analyze markets, applications, competitors and technologies to identify portfolio opportunities, risks and gaps.
• Support Sales and Business Development on strategic opportunities, product positioning, pricing and go-to-market activities.
• Contribute to cross-company portfolio analyses and selected ZAPI GROUP initiatives.

Education

Master's Degree in Engineering.

Key Requirements

• Experience in Product Management, Product Development or Business Development within an industrial, automotive or comparable B2B environment.
• Sound knowledge of power electronics fundamentals and their application in industrial products.
• Experience with technically complex electronic products development and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Sales and Operations.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management, product roadmaps, business cases and profitability analysis.
• Ability to translate market and business needs into clear product requirements and development priorities.
• Ability to coordinate stakeholders and drive activities without direct reporting authority.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with inverters, electric drives, electric motors, power electronics, electric mobility, embedded software.
• Knowledge of industrial and off-highway electrified vehicle applications.
• Experience managing complex product portfolios across multiple platforms, configurations and variants.
• Experience coordinating product roadmaps across companies, business units or development centers.
• Familiarity with product positioning, product launch and go-to-market methodologies.

Offer details

Fixed Salary Range

5-9 years of experience: 45.000 € – 55.000 €

10+ years of experience: 55.000 € – 70.000 €

Variable Salary:

Annual performance bonus linked to company objectives, equivalent to one month's base salary.

Labour contract: CNEL C011 Metalmeccanica Industria

Work Location: Zapi Group Headquarters - Poviglio (RE), Italy (On-site)

Availability to travel up to 25% of the time (national and international business trips).
