PPG Industries is seeking a Process Engineer Internship in Italy. The role focuses on defining and improving process engineering standards, operational instructions, and preventive actions to boost quality and process performance.

You will work with the technical lab, department managers, and the Launch Process Engineer to ensure alignment between batch tickets and field operations, optimize production cycles, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and digitization.

• Requires a degree in chemical engineering or chemistry with strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
• Good command of English and ability to work in an international environment.

Process Engineer Internship

As Process Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, implementing and continuously improving the process relating to Process Engineering, including standard processes, operational instructions and preventive actions to achieve the best Quality and Process performances

Key Responsibilities

• Review, in cooperation with the technical laboratory, department manager and Launch Process Engineer, the batch tickets instruction for the assigned manufacturing cell in order to guarantee the congruence between the process instructions requested in the batch ticket and the actual operation in the field.
• Assess the best choice between the available equipment/processes defining production cycles in agreement with technical goals, quality, costs and lead time.
• Make suggestions and ensure safe manufacturability and repetitive processes;
• Process Mapping to be carried out in the field on the codes / production cycles representative of the assigned manufacturing cell in order to update the production capacity model.
• Review / update of the main working methods relating to the transfer of packaging materials to the production tank, washing and set-up of the systems.
• Activities in cooperation with department manager and Performance Process Engineer
• Ensure the process follows all EHS practices to prevent accidents, spills and other EHS issues.
• Support in data analysis and data digitization activities based on the needs
  

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry
• Knowledge of statistical analysis
• Good level of English
• Good knowledge of Office tools (Words, Power Point, Excel)
