Meta seeks a motivated and organized team player to join our European Privacy and Data Policy team. You will lead external engagement with regulators, policymakers, and civil society across the EU on GDPR, AI Act, DSA, DMA and Data Act issues, translating fast-moving EU rules into clear guidance for internal partners.

Competenze

  • 6+ years of professional experience in privacy, data or technology policy, regulatory affairs, or a closely related field.
  • Fluency in English and French, as the role requires direct engagement with French‑speaking regulators and policymakers in the EU
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated expertise in AI policy and in the privacy and data protection framework of the EU digital landscape (GDPR, AI Act, DSA/DMA, Data Act)
  • Established familiarity with and a network in the data and privacy community in at least one of the countries where the position may be based (Spain, France, Italy)
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional programmes, including business process management, workflow and lifecycle management
  • Strong presentation, writing, and stakeholder‑management skills, including those with senior external audiences

You will work on strategic engagement and outreach with privacy and data policy stakeholders in the EU. This will involve working on cutting‑edge data policy issues and building relationships with key stakeholders. The role will involve proactive policy development, project management, and the creation of networks across different sectors. You will work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and present to both internal and external audiences. This role involves working on novel public policy issues. In this role you will combine substantive policy expertise with programme leadership: shaping and executing our external engagement strategy with regulators, policymakers, academics and civil society across the EU privacy and AI community, and translating the fast‑moving EU digital rulebook — GDPR, the AI Act, DSA, DMA, Data Act and the EU data strategy more broadly — into clear guidance and priorities for internal partners.The ideal candidate has a track record of public engagement (e.g., published thought leadership, conference speaking, or advisory roles) in the EU data and privacy community and is comfortable operating independently at senior levels both externally and internally. They will be detail‑oriented and strategic, able to adapt quickly, build credibility and trust across all levels of the organisation, and coordinate with cross‑functional leads on time‑and‑mission‑critical issues spanning policy, legal, communications, product, and engineering. This person will be highly organised, resilient and effective at prioritizing competing demands and delivering results in time‑sensitive scenarios and reports to the Director of Data and Privacy Policy, EMEA.

  4. Track record of published thought leadership or public speaking on privacy or AI policy


  5. Additional official EU languages to support stakeholder engagement across EU member states


  6. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)


  7. Experience working with or within an EU data protection authority, the EDPB, a national digital regulator, or an EU institution


  8. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)



Public Compensation:

€89,000/year to €114,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
