GSK is seeking a Principal Scientist, Drug Product Process Engineer in Siena, Italy, to lead sterile drug product development through advanced engineering, modelling, and digital technologies. This role drives process understanding, scale-up, and technology transfer within multidisciplinary teams.

You will apply data-driven approaches, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to innovative solutions across development programs.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related discipline.
• Experience in sterile drug product development and process engineering.
• Experience with scale-up and technology transfer in pharma/biotech.
• Experience applying modelling, PAT, automation, analytics, or digital technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English; another European language is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide process engineering expertise across development, scale-up and commercialization.
• Apply modelling, data analytics and digital tools to improve process performance and robustness.
• Support sterile drug product process development and technology transfer.
• Contribute to technical decision-making and risk-based recommendations.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges to enable successful outcomes.
• Mentor junior scientists and share knowledge within the organization.
