Job summary

St. Louis School Colonna Campus, part of the St. Louis School of Milan group, is seeking an experienced Upper Primary Teacher to commence January 2027.

The role focuses on nurturing critical thinking, responsible behavior, and a lifelong love of learning within a supportive environment. You will teach according to the English National Curriculum, mentor students through their transition to secondary education, and contribute to a thriving international school community.

Qualifications

• University degree in Education or a related subject with a recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Upper Primary (Years 4–6).
• Strong understanding of literacy and numeracy at Key Stage 2.
• Ability to use assessment data effectively to drive progress.
• EU passport or valid visa to work in Italy would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum is preferred.

• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum.

ROLE SUMMARY

Inspired Education Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Upper Primary Teacher to join the St. Louis School Colonna Campus, starting from January 2027.

The successful candidate will motivate students to think critically, act responsibly, and develop a lifelong love of learning. You will play a key role in preparing students for their transition to secondary education through high-quality teaching and a supportive learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Model and promote the St. Louis School Mission, Values and Positive Behaviour Policy to foster a respectful, inclusive learning culture.
• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum and the ethos of the Inspired Education Group.
• Use formative and summative assessments effectively to monitor progress, inform planning and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Work closely with colleagues across year groups to ensure continuity, progression and consistency in teaching and learning.
• Participate in professional learning, contribute to curriculum development and support whole-school improvement initiatives.
• Lead or assist with clubs, events, or school projects that enrich the wider learning experience.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• A university degree in Education or a related subject, with a recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Upper Primary (Years 4–6)
• Strong understanding of literacy, numeracy, and cross-curricular learning at Key Stage 2.
• Ability to use assessment data effectively to drive progress.
• Enthusiastic, reflective and passionate about inspiring independent, confident learners.
• Collaborative, innovative and eager to contribute to a thriving international school community.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• An EU passport or a valid visa to work in Italy would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum is preferred.
