Vertiv is seeking a Presales Senior CAD Engineer to join an interdisciplinary team for schematic design of Data centers and Critical Infrastructure. You will apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills across Clean Energy, AI, and data center design, mentoring new staff and leading medium-complexity opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Presales Senior CAD Engineer is an important part of an interdisciplinary team of technical experts (electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural) to bring together schematic design for Data center (Hyperscale, Enterprise, Colocation, Edge, CLS) and Critical Infrastructure facilities. Position includes applying theoretical knowledge, practical engineering skills, coaching, mentoring as well as communication skills in the fields of Clean Energy, AI and Data center design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents
• Reading and understanding customer requirements provided by SA and sales team
• Understanding of basic architectural and construction standards
• CAD (Revit, ACAD) Modeling
• Providing and reviewing design documents
• Handling multiple concurrent opportunities
• Ability to lead activities
• Demonstrated ability to handle opportunities of medium complexity without supervision
• Support team lead
• Mentoring new employees

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good CAD capabilities including the ability to represent 3D, layouts, sections
• PC skills: Active user of Windows, MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), AutoCAD, Revit
• Technical/practical skills: Advanced analytical skills, Assessment skills, Organizational skills
• Active English

The anticipated salary range for this role in the Bologna locality is between 43,000 - 54,000 Euro gross per year (based on a 40-hour work week)—salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional benefits. Where applicable, a comprehensive overview of the full benefits package and any additional compensation will be provided during the initial interview. Compensation ranges are determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria including skills, experience, and job responsibilities.

The applicable National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for this role is Metalmeccanico Industria.
