Job summary

INFN, Sezione di Pavia, invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in high-energy phenomenology under the project “Precision calculations for quantum tests of the SM and new physics searches” within INFN’s 2027/2028 Fellowship Programme.

Research will focus on hadronic corrections to muon g-2, luminosity precision for future accelerators, and Drell-Yan processes to measure the electroweak mixing angle and W mass.

Qualifications

• Non-Italian citizens holding a PhD or equivalent qualification from a foreign institution.
• Italian citizens who have been abroad for at least three years (foreign appointment).
• Applicants must normally have obtained their PhD on or after November 12, 2018.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to precision physics phenomenology for current and future accelerators.
• Develop perturbative calculations and resummation techniques for hadronic processes.
• Incorporate calculations into Monte Carlo event generators used by experiments.
