Job summary

Deel is seeking a Senior Platform Security Engineer to lead cloud and application security across AWS, ensuring secure design, implementation, and operations. You will drive threat modeling, secure CI/CD, and container/Kubernetes hardening while aligning with privacy and compliance requirements.

The role emphasizes building scalable security programs, collaborating with engineering and leadership to improve overall security posture and enable secure AI features in Deel’s platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with cloud and application security.
• Deep AWS security expertise including IAM, network controls, logging, and data protection.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and API Security Top 10.
• Experience with security platforms such as Wiz, Orca, Prisma Cloud and Aikido.
• Ability to integrate security gates into CI/CD for application code and IaC.
• Experience securing containers and Kubernetes, including image hardening and RBAC.
• Threat modeling experience (STRIDE or equivalent).
• Ability to read and reason about production code in at least one modern language.

Responsibilities

• Own platform security architecture strategy across applications and cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Operate Wiz, Aikido and related tools to improve cloud posture and security testing.
• Design identity and access controls at all layers, including IAM and multi-tenant isolation.
• Embed security into SDLC and CI/CD pipelines for code and IaC.
• Secure containers and Kubernetes with image hardening and runtime protection.
• Lead software supply chain security and SBOMs from npm install to runtime.
• Lead threat modeling and incident response across systems and platforms.
• Partner with Privacy/Compliance to meet SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and GDPR.
• Scale security through a Security Champions program.
