Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform in Milan to join the Platform team that owns the backend powering its Text-to-Speech products. You will design and own critical APIs, scale payments, subscriptions, and auth, and collaborate with product, mobile, and web to keep the backend ahead of the product.

Ideal candidates bring proven TS/Node backend experience, strong cloud know-how (GCP preferred) and a bias for automation, reliability, and high availability using Kubernetes and

Competenze

• Proven backend experience with TS/Node.
• Cloud experience with GCP (mandatory) and AWS/Azure knowledge.
• Ability to hand off work and show tangible results.
• Experience with AI agents in daily workflows.
• Attention to logs, DB state, and production realities.
• Judgment to prune unnecessary work and justify decisions.
• Docker/containerized deployments preferred.
• Kubernetes for high-availability deployments preferred.

Mansioni

• Design, build, and own APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Improve external services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Validate changes with tests and post-release checks.
• Automate repetitive tasks to free up time for more impactful work.
• Turn one-off work into reusable, team-wide assets.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture ahead of the product.
