Job summary

Siemens is seeking an OT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to join the Smart Infrastructure, Grid Software division in Lombardia, Italy. You will operate and maintain virtualized server environments, manage backups, and troubleshoot infrastructure at customer sites, collaborating across teams and partners.

The role requires hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Veeam, Linux and Windows, and HPE hardware. Travel up to 50% and a driving license are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent technical discipline.
• Professional experience in IT infrastructure or systems engineering within medium-sized or large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Practical experience on OS Linux & Windows.
• Practical knowledge of HPE servers, NAS and SAN systems.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and infrastructure security principles.
• Structured, analytical and solution-oriented approach to troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
• Ability to work independently, including technical activities at customer premises, while collaborating effectively with IT teams and stakeholders.
• Effective communication skills in Italian and intermediate English; willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Valid Category B driving license.

Responsibilities

• Configure, operate and maintain virtualized server environments based on VMware vSphere/ESXi and HPE Morpheus.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery using Veeam Backup & Replication, including policies and recovery testing.
• Administer and troubleshoot HPE servers on customer premises along with storage and security environments.
• Analyze infrastructure requirements and coordinate technical implementation throughout lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and external specialists to support OT infrastructure improvements.
