Job summary

Thomas Franks is a founder-led, fresh food catering company based in Milan that delivers nutrition education and education sessions to schools across the European Region. The role focuses on innovative nutrition education, working with independent schools and school sites, and supporting campaigns with our ambassadors and nutritionists.

You will design materials, deliver sessions to pupils aged 4+ to Year 13, and collaborate with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nutrition (BSc) or current student in a recognised university.
• Member of an approved regulatory body (BANT or AFN).
• Professional, organised, presentable, efficient and self-motivated.
• Willing to travel around the country and be away from home at times.
• Passion for staying up to date with nutrition research and national legislation.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver new nutrition education materials for schools.
• Conduct nutrition audits/assessments of school food provisions and advise on improvements.
• Deliver nutrition campaigns and awareness programs in collaboration with internal/external groups.
• Develop nutrition training/resources for teams and clients.

We have a fantastic opportunity for you as Nutritionist to join our team working in the European Region and based in Milan covering our Independent Schools & B&I Sites.

KEY PURPOSE:

As a Nutritionist for Thomas Franks you will be involved in driving innovation and nutrition education in schools. This role involves working closely with clients particularly independent schools delivering educational material on nutrition as well as internally assisting the Group Director of Nutrition and working with our team of Ambassadors and Nutritionists. It also involves building relationships with our suppliers and support agencies.

As well as having an excellent presentation, and communication skills, you will be able to demonstrate a real passion & enthusiasm for Nutrition & Education.
Develop and deliver nutrition education sessions and associated resources within schools with pupils aged 4+ years to Year 13, including pre-recorded education sessions.

• Design and deliver new materials that enhance the education and curriculum support we offer to each school/contract.
• Conduct nutrition audits / assessment of school food provision providing guidance to our catering and management teams on improvement areas.
• Assist in the delivery of TF’s nutrition and food awareness campaigns e.g. Healthy eating week, mental health awareness, coeliac awareness, etc through collaboration with internal and external groups as appropriate.
• Deliver material on sustainable diets and work with our chefs on producing eco labels and track carbon footprint of dishes.
• Support the Marketing team through delivering the nutrition social media content.
• Support client/pupil workshops and roadshows.
• Communicate internally and externally for the business.
• Assist in the development of nutrition training and education resources for our teams and clients.
• Supporting compliance across the business in relation to food safety and allergens.
• Inputting of recipes and meal plans into computer software Nutritics.
• Responsible for delivering on nutrition related projects as required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Will have a degree (BSc) in Nutrition or currently studying for a degree at a recognised University.
• Member of an approved Regulatory Body (BANT, AFN).
• Professional, organised, presentable, efficient and self-motivated.
• Willing to travel around the country and be away from home at times.
• A passion for keeping up to date with research and national legislation.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Experience of delivering presentations to clients particularly schools.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Experience of working as a Nutritionist in the public / education sector.
• Experience working and teaching pupils/students (preferable).
• Must have a valid driving licence.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

• Relevant Health and Safety qualification.
• Experience in Allergen Care and training.
• Previous experience delivering nutrition support to schools.
