Job summary

Delonghi is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive component and sub-assembly design through the NPD process, from specification to Start of Production, with emphasis on CAD design, design reviews, and DFMEA.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance performance, obsolescence, and cost while contributing to a global, fast-paced environment shaping products used by millions.

Qualifications

• BEng / BSc qualification.
• Experience in designing mechanical components and systems.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX (3D/2D).
• Knowledge of mass production product development.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and evaluating test results.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess specifications.
• Prepare feasibility studies with Industrial Design and R&D.
• Identify risks impacting development timelines.
• Create and maintain component and sub-assembly specifications.
• Execute CAD design for parts and layouts (3D/2D).
• Support R&D in prototype testing.
• Lead DFMEA documentation and technical BOM preparation.
• Collaborate with local R&D and Purchasing on costs/investments.
• Work with moulding departments to analyze processes.
• Support Engineering Build and Pre-production phases.
• Organize and participate in technical design reviews.
• Prepare technical documentation for project status and next steps in reviews and NPD meetings.
