Vertiv Group cerca un Mechanical Design Engineer a Tognana (Italy) per guidare lo sviluppo meccanico dalla progettazione alla produzione, con forte focus sulla manufacturabilità e sui costi. Richiesta esperienza in E2M, DFM/DFA e collaborazione cross-funzionale.

Ruolo ibrido con supporto a sito e fornitori internazionali. La posizione prevede progettazione con Creo, gestione cambi, controllo qualità e supporto al ramp-up di produzione.

Competenze

• Laurea in ingegneria Meccanica o campo correlato.
• Esperienza 3–7+ anni in design meccanico con esposizione E2M/industrializzazione.
• Conoscenza di PTC Creo e metodologie DFM/DFA.

Mansioni

• Progettare e sviluppare componenti meccanici e assemblaggi con Creo.
• Applicare DFM/DFA per ottimizzare produzione e assemblaggio.
• Guidare il processo E2M dalla concept alla produzione seriale.
• Gestire modelli 3D, disegni 2D, BOM e documentazione ingegneristica.
• Collaborare con produzione, industrializzazione, qualità e supply chain.
• Supportare prototipazione, build di convalida e ramp-up di produzione.
• Lavorare con fornitori su fattibilità e processi di produzione.

We are now looking for a new Mechanical Design Engineer in Tognana, Italy!

We are seeking a proactive Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in Engineering-to-Manufacturing (E2M) processes. This role is key to ensuring a seamless transition from design to production, with a strong emphasis on manufacturability, cost optimization, and product scalability. The ideal candidate combines solid design expertise with hands-on manufacturing awareness and thrives in cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using PTC Creo
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly
• Drive the E2M process, supporting product transition from concept to serial production
• Produce and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation
• Collaborate with manufacturing, industrialization, quality, and supply chain teams
• Support prototyping, validation builds, and production ramp-up phases
• Work closely with suppliers to validate design feasibility and manufacturing processes
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, design simplification, and performance improvement
• Manage engineering changes through CR (Change Request) and CO (Change Order) processes, ensuring proper review, approval, and implementation
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actionsEnsure compliance with technical standards, specifications, and safety requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 3–7+ years of experience in mechanical design with E2M or industrialization exposure
• Strong proficiency in PTC Creo (preferred CAD system)
• Solid understanding of DFM/DFA methodologies
• Experience with PLM systems and BOM management
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal, plastics, etc.)
• Experience supporting production ramp-up and manufacturing validation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in complex or high-volume manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
• Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Work Environment

• Combination of office-based design work and on-site manufacturing support
• Close collaboration with production teams and external partners
• Occasional travel to manufacturing sites as needed
