SSC Space in Milano seeks a Senior Ground Segment Engineer with extensive space systems experience to lead the definition, development and integration of ground segment facilities. You will drive S/S architecture decisions, control technical interfaces, and manage budgets within an international team environment.

The role requires strong requirements management, traceability using DOORS, and expertise with STK, Python, Matlab, SysML/UML.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or comparable degree.
• 10+ years in Ground Segment (G/S) engineering projects for space systems, in Phase C/D as mandatory.
• 5+ years in definition and design of S/S for EO systems for institutional and/or commercial customers.
• Strong competences in design and development of EO space systems.
• Experience in requirements definition, management and traceability with DOORS.
• Use of simulation tools for G/S performance: STK, Python, MATLAB.
• Model-based methods and tools: SysML, UML.
• Knowledge of G/S engineering processes and life cycles.
• Familiarity with ECSS standards.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• English fluency; Italian desirable

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or comparable degree
• Professional experience of at least ten years in Ground Segment (G/S) engineering projects for space systems, in Phase C/D as mandatory
• Professional experience of at least five years in definition and design of S/S for EO systems for institutional and/or commercial customers
• Strong competences in design and development of EO space
• Experience in the definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of DOORS
• Use of simulation and computing tools for the definition of G/S performances, e.g. STK, Python, MATLAB
• Proven capability to define G/S design throughout the support of model-based methods, techniques and tools (e.g. SysML, UML)
• Sound knowledge of ground system engineering processes, and ground system and software life cycles
• Sound knowledge of relevant ECSS standards
• Excellent conceptual and analytical skills
• Ability to devise creative solutions and think out of the box
• Proven heritage and attitude for problem solving and project team management
• High level of flexibility, willingness to work in international teams and ability to keep tight schedules
• High motivation, proactive working approach and strong sense of responsibility
• Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
• Fluency in both spoken and written (Business) English, Italian skills are desirable
