Job summary

Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE) in La Spezia, Italy, seeks candidates to join the Engineering and Information Technology Division for ongoing temporary positions. The pool targets technicians, junior engineers and early-career professionals with hands-on maritime engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 1 year post-related experience.
• Or Higher secondary educational qualification with 3 years post-related experience.
• Knowledge of electronics, telecommunications, mechanical/ocean/mechatronics engineering, automation and control, robotics or unmanned systems, IT.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assembly, integration, testing and maintenance of engineering systems.
• Assist laboratory, workshop, field and shipboard equipment operation.
• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and check technical systems.
• Prepare equipment for trials, exercises, experiments and demonstrations.
• Integrate sensors, payloads, cables, interfaces and acquisition equipment.
• Configure, test and validate embedded or automation systems.
• Prepare, maintain and test unmanned maritime systems.
• Support deployment, recovery and safe marine equipment handling.
• Collect, log and quality-check basic technical data.
• Maintain records on configuration, testing, maintenance and use.
• System administration; Asset management; Security compliance; Quality Assurance.
• Prepare basic documentation, equipment records, checklists and test notes; Assist with technical reports and configuration documents; Support inventory, procurement follow-up and experiment logistics; Provide accurate information for team coordination.
