The role

The Assistant Manufacturing Manager supports the Manufacturing Manager in driving the day-to-day performance of the factory, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable execution of the production plan while continuously improving manufacturing performance. Working closely with production teams and cross-functional partners, the role helps identify and eliminate operational losses, improve productivity and waste, strengthen manufacturing standards and develop a strong continuous improvement culture on the shopfloor. The role combines operational leadership, data-driven performance management and improvement projects, providing broad exposure to factory operations and an opportunity to progressively develop manufacturing leadership capabilities.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Manufacturing Performance. Support the Manufacturing Manager in the daily execution of the production plan, monitoring performance and escalating risks or deviations. Support the implementation and sustainability of manufacturing standards and basic conditions. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve productivity and optimise the use of manpower and factory resources.
  • People & Shopfloor Leadership. Work closely with Shift Supervisors and shopfloor teams to strengthen daily performance management and execution discipline. Spend significant time on the shopfloor understanding issues at source and supporting teams in resolving operational problems. Contribute to building manufacturing capabilities through coaching, knowledge sharing and structured improvement activities.
  • Cross-functional Leadership. Work closely with Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Safety and other factory functions to ensure effective execution of manufacturing priorities. Coordinate or contribute to cross-functional improvement projects affecting production performance.
  • Data & Digital. Use manufacturing data and digital tools to identify trends, understand losses and support fact-based decision making. Support automation and digital manufacturing initiatives that improve visibility, productivity and operational control.

  • Brings strong skills in manufacturing performance management, Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement, root cause and loss analysis, data analysis and digital tools, and project management.
  • Has strong analytical skills and is comfortable turning data into operational actions.
  • Enjoys spending time on the shopfloor and working directly with production teams.
  • Shows leadership potential and the ability to influence people without relying on hierarchy.
  • Is pragmatic, hands‑on and comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
