EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist in Lauriano, Italy. You will define and promote continuous improvement projects for methods and technologies in the Frames production plant, focusing on capability, OEE, quality, and service levels.

You will analyze production processes, implement standardization, and collaborate with Automation to address critical process needs while supporting new product introductions and equipment ramp-ups.

Competenze

• 1–4 years of project management experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Advanced Excel skills and data-driven problem solving.

Your role

The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, reporting directly to MFG Eng. Manager, defines and promotes projects for continuous improvement of methods and technologies installed in the Frames production plant.
MFG. Engineering Specialist main goals are analyzing production processes and activating projects aimed to optimize performances, in terms of capability, OEE, quality, level of service. He/she defines and implements proper actions to address technical issues and is focused on standardization of activities. He/she supports the introduction of new products and collaborates with the Automation dept. to identify critical needs of the process to be addressed.

Main responsibilities:

• Provides technical support, direction, and guidance on improvement of technology, processes, and equipment reliability to support capacity, capability, and improvements to deliver service and quality results.
• Provides support in organizing and managing manufacturing workflows and resources.
• Propose upgrade to systems and processes with new technology or materials.
• Manage the development of manufacturing and testing processes for new products introduction.
• Provides technical support for day-to-day manufacturing and translates technical knowledge to functional groups and training requirements.
• Leverages the use of lean tools and six sigma approach to improve overall machine performance.
• Give support for new equipment characteristics definition, introduction and ramp up.
• Provides guidance to support standardization of processes and materials across manufacturing shifts.
• Partners with quality to develop quality control plans required to sustain operations and deliver product results.
• Apply problem solving techniques to drive continuous improvement on process and equipment.
• Develops and directs procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
• Collaborate with other departments, contractors and suppliers.
• Boost standardization of processes with other Luxottica plants through benchmarks.

Main requirements:

• Previous experience (1-4 years) in project management role in manufacturing plants where processes are both automated and manual
• Good knowledge of technological processes, for plastic and metal materials
• Method (lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools, problem solving)
• Knowledge of production KPIs (direct work efficiency, OEE, extra consumption, finance elements)
• Team spirit acumen
• Flexibility and reliability
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionality
• Excel Advanced
