Rotork is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 9-month contract at the Porcari, Lucca site. You will design, implement and document shop floor processes, driving efficiency and best engineering practice across production tasks and projects.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will support continuous improvement, audits and problem resolution, with hands-on CAD experience and Lean tools. Fluency in Italian and professional English are required.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a technical diploma.
• Minimum 5 years as Manufacturing/Production/Industrial Engineer in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in engineering-led production environments.
• Lean and CI methods with proven efficiency, quality, productivity gains.
• Lean tools and problem-solving: 5S, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Gap Analysis, Timing Methods.
• Data analysis, process performance measurement, root-cause analysis.
• CAD experience: AutoCAD and Solid Edge.
• Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Fluent Italian and professional English (min B2).

Manufacturing Engineer (9 Month Contract)

This is a critical position within the production team working on dynamic challenges and varied projects where you will have a tangible effect on the efficiency of Rotork’s production. It is a 9 month contract position, based at our Porcari, Lucca site.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role is to ensure the continuous improvements of production tasks and processes during a transformational period of developments and efficiency gains within the Bath factory.

In the Manufacturing Engineer role you will design, implement and document shop floor processes, considering best engineering practice throughout. You will partake in audits, technical support and problem investigations/ resolutions with a view to suggest new processes and equipment where applicable and appropriate.

This role would suit a proactive candidate who is motivated in problem solving and driving solutions forwards. You must be a team player with the ability to work independently and have an analytical mind with an eye for detail.

Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a Technical Diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Industrial Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience in an engineering‑led production environment manufacturing electromechanical products.
• Practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and process improvement tools, with a proven ability to drive efficiency, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of Lean tools and problem‑solving methodologies, including: 5S, 5 Whys, Ishikawa (Fishbone) Analysis, Gap Analysis, Timing Methods
• Proficiency in data analysis, process performance measurement, and root cause analysis.
• Experience using CAD software, including AutoCAD, Solid Edge .
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Fluent Italian (advanced level) and professional English (minimum B2 level).
