SMS group S.p.A. is seeking a Manager Sales Operations Direct Service Flat Products in Lombardy, based in San Donato Milanese.

This role focuses on technical and commercial proposals for spare parts and modernization in flat product rolling, with strong coordination of orders to ensure on-time execution. You will collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and ERP teams; a degree in engineering or technical field is required and fluent English is mandatory.

Competenze

• Degree in Engineering or technical diploma; mechanical specialization preferred.
• Prior experience in technical-commercial back-office roles in mechanical engineering or steel plants.
• Fluent English required (written and spoken).
• SAP S/4HANA experience is a plus; additional language is a plus.

• Develop technical and commercial proposals for spare parts and modernization for flat product rolling.
• Identify required components and systems from customer docs with internal engineering support.
• Prepare spare parts packages for initial supply with product tech teams.
• Evaluate costs with purchasing, costing, and supplier management.

YOU ACT

• Develop technical and commercial proposals for spare parts and upgrading/modernization solutions for flat product rolling (hot/cold)
• Identify required components, equipment, and systems using customer technical documentation and internal engineering support
• Prepare spare parts packages for initial supply in collaboration with product-specific technical departments
• Evaluate costs in cooperation with purchasing, costing, and supplier management teams
• Draft technical specifications and detailed commercial quotations
• Oversee and coordinate order execution, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy
• Collect and analyze project information, aligning after-sales activities with contractual milestones
• Maintain accurate records of quotations and orders within ERP systems
• Provide excellent customer service, handling technical inquiries and support needs

YOU KNOW

• Degree in Engineering or Technical Diploma (preferred specializations: Mechanical)
• Previous experience in technical-commercial back-office roles within mechanical engineering companies or steel production plant environments
• Mandatory: Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
• Preferred: Proficiency in an additional language
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience of SAP S/4HANA is considered a plus
