Job summary

Thrive IT Systems is seeking a Linux System Engineer for a fully remote role within Italy. The candidate will install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Linux clusters, manage VMware environments, and implement infrastructure automation using Puppet and Ansible.

Familiarity with Katello/Foreman and Satellite is a plus, as is experience with mail and DNS services. The role supports diverse environments (on-premises and cloud) in a remote, B2B freelance mode.

Qualifications

• Installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of Red Hat Linux servers (RHEL 6/7/8).
• Experience with HP Blade and Rack servers hardware.
• Knowledge of hardware RAID 5/6/10.
• Experience with Linux DNS servers (Bind).
• Configuration/management of Postfix SMTP server.
• Dovecot/Amavis/ClamAV configurations experience.
• Kickstart installations of Linux servers.
• Network bonding and kernel tuning.
• Provisioning with Katello/Foreman.
• Central syslog server management.
• Monitoring concepts understanding.
• Red Hat clusters configuration/management.
• ITSM ticketing systems knowledge (ServiceNow).
• Infrastructure automation with Puppet and Ansible.
• VMware virtualization concepts and vCenter management.
• Disaster recovery concepts and replication methods.
• SAN/Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage types.
• Satellite servers experience.
• Remote/B2B freelance mode awareness.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Red Hat Linux servers and related infrastructure.
• Manage HP blade/server hardware and virtualization environments.
• Implement and maintain DNS, mail, monitoring, and central logging.
• Configure and manage backup, clustering, and DR concepts.
• Automate infrastructure with Puppet and Ansible.
• Utilize Foreman/Katello for provisioning and configuration.
• Handle ITSM tickets and integration with ServiceNow.
• Work in a remote Italy-based freelance/B2B setup.

Job Summary

• Installation configuration management maintenance and administration of Redhat Linux servers version 6 7 and 8
• Experience in working with HP Blade and Rack servers
• knowledge of Hardware RAID 5 6 and 10
• Experience with Linux based DNS servers Bind LVM etc
• configuration and management of Postfix SMTP server
• experience with Dovecot and Clam AV and Amavis configurations
• experience with kickstart installations of Linux servers
• experience in configuring Network bonding kernel tuning
• Understanding of Katello and foreman for provisioning and configuration of Redhat servers
• configuration and management of central syslog server
• Clear understanding of Monitoring concepts
