Job summary

Do IT Now seeks a passionate Linux Systems Administrator to join our HPC support team. You will install, configure and maintain HPC systems based on GNU/Linux distributions and related software components, and design HPC cluster architectures including servers, interconnects, storage and queue management tools.

You will work with application and system engineers to implement advanced solutions, deploy HPC applications, optimize performance, and train users on the HPC environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in similar Linux/HPC roles.
• Experience with GNU/Linux distributions (RedHat, SLES, etc.).
• Fluent English and Italian.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain HPC systems.
• Design and configure HPC cluster architectures (servers, interconnects, storage, queueing).
• Identify advanced solutions and optimize HPC applications performance.
• Provide client/user training on HPC environments.

Job description

Do IT Now is looking for a passionate and very proactive Linux Systems Administrator to join HPC support team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for Installation, configuration and maintenance of HPC systems based on GNU/Linux distributions as well as all related software components.

The ideal candidate will also be responsible for designing and configuring HPC cluster architectures, including all hardware and software components (servers, high-speed interconnects, storage, queue management tools, etc.).

Working in team with our application and system engineers, the candidate will be

responsible for identifying advanced solutions, installation and configuration of HPC applications, as well as developing applications performance improvements. The candidate will also be responsible for client/user training.

Skills and Experience

Essential skills

• High school diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
• Fluent English and Italian.
• Good knowledge of Linux Enterprise distributions (RedHat EL, SLES, etc.)
• Knowledge Backup and Scripting with Bash and Python.

Technical skills and experience:

• Networking: Switching, VLAN, FireWall
• Backup and Scripting with Bash and Python
• Docker, Singularity, R.H. Container
• Automations Tools: Ansible, Puppet

Desirable skills and experience

• Openshift
• Openstack
• VmWare, Citrix, KVM, Hyper-V
• Relational database (MySQL, Ost, Postgres)
• Knowledge and previous experience of DELL, HPE and Lenovo Server Platforms.
