Job summary

Eutelsat is seeking a Satellite Telecommunications Payload Engineer to drive end-to-end design, verification and deployment of regenerative payloads for LEO satellites. You will translate service requirements into robust payload architectures and partner with suppliers, ground networks, and operations teams to deliver mission-critical capacity.

The role requires a deep understanding of RF, digital processing, and onboard systems, with a focus on performance budgets, verification, and in-orbit

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Fluent written and spoken English required; French knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of regenerative payloads for LEO satellites.
• Translate requirements into payload-level technical requirements and specs.
• Define payload architectures and allocate functions across RF, digital, and onboard processing.
• Lead architecture trade studies for regenerative, transparent, and hybrid payloads.
• Define onboard processing functions including digitisation, modulation, routing, and bandwidth allocation.
• Ensure payload design supports coverage, capacity, latency, resilience and QoS objectives.
• Establish and maintain performance budgets, including RF, digital, and network metrics.
• Coordinate with suppliers, ground networks, and operations teams for deployment and validation.
• Oversee integration, testing, and in-orbit operations of payload equipment.
