Job summary

Oerlikon in Brugherio, Italy, is seeking a Process Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes and lean methodologies. You will support continuous improvement initiatives and help optimize production processes and facility layouts.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct time and motion studies, analyze data, and contribute to standardized work practices while collaborating with experienced professionals in a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree student, or recent graduate, in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Team-oriented mindset and effective communication skills.
• Good command of Italian and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and optimization of production layouts, applying Lean Manufacturing principles to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Assist in managing relationships with suppliers and coordinating project-related activities.
• Support the resolution of technical issues and contribute to the implementation of process improvements.
• Conduct time and motion studies and analyze production data to identify opportunities for increased productivity and waste reduction.
• Monitor the progress of continuous improvement initiatives and prepare reports on project performance and results.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardized work processes and operational best practices.
