Job summary

Stealth Startup in Milan, Italy, seeks a Lead Network Engineer to own the inter-pod and Kubernetes networking across dispersed sites. You will define the network architecture, implement an encrypted mesh, and drive automation and observability.

In this senior role you will mentor the Fabric Engineer, collaborate with the CTO, and shape a scalable, secure infrastructure for AI/HPC workloads, with equity in a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/telecoms/networking.
• 6-10 years in hands-on networking across multiple sites or edge environments.
• Experience designing production networks with dynamic routing, VPN overlays, and failover.
• Experience running networking for a production Kubernetes or cloud platform.
• Automation of network operations as code at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end network architecture, addressing plan, and design reviews.
• Design and operate encrypted mesh between sites with dynamic routing and failover.
• Own Kubernetes networking: connectivity, exposure, and isolation across clusters.
• Implement segmentation and tenant isolation per Head of Security.
• Own network automation and observability for new pods.
• Mentor the Fabric Engineer and support field deployments.
