Job summary

Generali Group in Italy seeks a Catastrophe Modeling Lead to drive end-to-end modeling for a defined perimeter within the Group Climate Hub. You will lead the modeling process, evaluate models, and provide exposure analyses to support risk management and reinsurance decisions.

You will mentor colleagues, collaborate across Reinsurance, Risk Management and Climate Hub functions to shape best practices, governance, and capability building.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on catastrophe modeling experience in insurance, brokerage, reinsurer or model vendor.
• Programming skills in SQL, Python and R.
• Proficiency in English and Italian; knowledge of additional European languages a plus.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Commitment to knowledge sharing and capability building.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end catastrophe modeling for the assigned perimeter, ensuring timely production and interpretation of results.
• Evaluate, test, select and implement catastrophe models; develop recommendations for reinsurance and risk management decisions.
• Conduct complex exposure management analyses to identify drivers, trends and portfolio optimization opportunities.
• Serve as primary contact for Group catastrophe modeling topics; ensure methodological consistency across the group.
• Manage relationships with model vendors, brokers and reinsurers; oversee model releases and calibration.
• Own the delivery of catastrophe modeling outputs and related reporting, ensuring governance and quality.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement; support knowledge sharing and capability development.
