Job summary

ams OSRAM in Pavia, Italy, seeks a Senior Principal Engineer to define and lead broadband optical IC architectures and technology roadmaps. You will guide system and IC design, translate requirements into subsystems, and drive trade-off analyses with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidate has 15+ years of semiconductor IC development, tape-out success in advanced CMOS nodes, and deep expertise in optical IC/ PHY architectures, including TIA, VCSEL drivers, SerDes, and high-speed links.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years semiconductor IC development experience.
• Multiple successful broadband optical IC tape-outs in advanced CMOS nodes.
• Broadband optical IC and PHY architectures, including high-speed optical links.
• Advanced CMOS node experience (FinFET/FD-SOI).
• MATLAB and Python proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define broadband optical communication IC architectures and roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership for strategic developments.
• Develop system and IC architectures and translate requirements into subsystems.
• Lead architecture trade-off analyses and guide implementation teams.
• Participate in customer and technology roadmap discussions.
• Support teams through development and validation.
