Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Laboratory Manager in Italy to lead laboratory operations and validation activities for Bogie Brake products. You will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and project teams, as well as suppliers, external laboratories and customers.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, experience in lab/testing, and knowledge of metrology and ISO 17025. Fluent Italian and English are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory, validation or testing activities.
• Experience managing resources and budgets.
• Knowledge of metrology.
• Experience with laboratory accreditations and ISO 17025.
• Fluent Italian and English.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily laboratory operations and testing activities.
• Plan and coordinate validation tests.
• Manage laboratory resources, priorities and budget.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and accreditation requirements.
• Support test bench verification and maintenance activities.
• Review and approve test reports.
• Work with internal teams, suppliers and external laboratories.
• Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain laboratory organization and 5S standards.
