ams OSRAM's LSP – Light Sensors & Photonics unit seeks a Validation Engineer to support laboratory testability and develop validation concepts for semiconductor products. You will drive measurement activities, report results, and collaborate with design teams throughout the product development cycle.

The role requires proficiency in measurement techniques, Python and NI LabVIEW, and experience with PXI/PXIe instruments; embedded firmware experience is a plus.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of Validation Engineer experience in semiconductor industry.
• Strong knowledge of measurement techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
• Proficiency in Python and NI LabVIEW for validation workflows.
• Experience programming and integrating NI PXI/PXIe instrumentation.
• Embedded firmware development experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of PCB design tools like Altium, Eagle, OrCAD.
• Statistical data analysis and strong documentation skills.
• Excellent teamwork and proactive, self-driven attitude.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

• Support the design team during the development phase by ensuring adequate product testability in the laboratory
• Develop validation concepts and methodologies starting from product specifications and design requirements and drive their execution through laboratory characterization and measurement activities
• Investigate and analyze unexpected test results in collaboration with the design team
• Design and layout PCBs for the electrical evaluation of ICs
• Define test methodologies and laboratory setups using appropriate instrumentation
• Develop software for automated validation and measurement workflows
• Demonstrate familiarity with soldering, desoldering, and electronic rework equipment
• Prepare technical documentation and reports related to measurement results
• Work closely with technical leaders, design engineers, and test development engineers throughout the entire product development cycle

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in Electronics Engineering is preferred
• Previous experience as a Validation Engineer in the semiconductor industry (typically 5+ years)
• Strong knowledge of measurement techniques and laboratory instrumentation
• Proficiency in validation software tools such as Python and NI LabVIEW
• Experience programming and integrating NI PXI/PXIe instrumentation for automated validation and test applications is highly desirable
• Experience in embedded firmware development and microcontroller programming is not required but would be considered a plus
• Knowledge of PCB design and layout tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, and OrCAD
• Experience in the validation of automotive semiconductor products is considered a plus but is not mandatory
