Palermo Consolidated School in Palermo is seeking a compassionate Special Education Resource Room Teacher for grades K–5 for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will develop and monitor IEPs, use data to tailor instruction, and collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student achievement, in a PBIS-based, inclusive setting.

Competenze

• Valid Maine Certification 282 – Teacher of Students with Disabilities required.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and special education law.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• A positive, flexible, and student-focused approach to supporting diverse learners.

Mansioni

• Provide specially designed instruction in both resource room and inclusive classroom settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Use assessment and progress-monitoring data to design and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, educational technicians, and families to support student achievement.
• Conduct academic evaluations and classroom observations.
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional learning opportunities.
