CATL is seeking an Engineer to participate in the commissioning, delivery, and SAT of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will troubleshoot, resolve defects in battery containers, and assist with PCS/EMS commissioning while understanding their principles.

The role requires travel to project sites worldwide, strong English skills, Mandarin proficiency, and a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, and PM teams to meet schedules.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical/Energy related fields.
• 1-3 years experience for Engineer; 5+ years for Manager in electrical equipment commissioning.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, BESS, PV, PCS, EMS, CAN and Modbus protocols.
• Fluent English; Mandarin Chinese required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long-term overseas assignments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the commissioning, project delivery, and acceptance of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution for battery containers/cabinets, including:
• DC Circuits (up to 1500V DC)
• Auxiliary AC Circuits (220V/400V AC)
• BMS Communication Systems
• Assist with the commissioning of PCS (Power Conversion System) and EMS (Energy Management System), with a basic understanding of their operating principles.
• Support on-site issue analysis, fault diagnosis, corrective actions, and issue closure together with the project team.
• Participate in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), grid connection testing, and project acceptance activities.
• Support customer training on system operation, maintenance, and product usage.
• Track commissioning issues through to closure and ensure projects are delivered according to schedule.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, After-Sales Service, Project Management, etc.) to resolve site issues efficiently.
• Comply with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements and ensure safe execution of all commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, or related disciplines.
• 1-3 years (Engineer), 5 yrs+ (Manager) of experience in electrical equipment commissioning, energy projects, or related industries.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:
• Basic knowledge of primary and secondary electrical systems;
• Energy storage systems, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and power systems;
• Basic principles of BMS, PCS, and EMS;
• Industrial communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus RTU/TCP;
• Communication networks and fieldbus technologies.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and communication topology drawings.
• Knowledge of BESS grid-connection processes, substation equipment, and power plant delivery procedures is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office software.
• Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English for daily work and on-site communication; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long-term assignments at project sites overseas, including Europe and other international locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), photovoltaic (PV), or wind power projects.
• Low-voltage and/or high-voltage electrical certification, or equivalent electrical qualifications.
• Experience working on international projects or in a multicultural environment. xysqume
