Hitachi Rail in Pistoia, Tuscany, Italy seeks a Junior Mechanical Architecture Engineer to support the engineering team in a fast-paced setting. The role is based in Pistoia with potential international collaboration.

The candidate will work on train architecture, interfaces, and layout designs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards. English at least B2 level is required.

Competenze

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
• At least 1 year of experience in railway projects.
• Knowledge of rail vehicle design standards and regulations.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Autodesk/CREO).
• Experience with DOORS for requirements management.
• Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics; good Office skills.

Mansioni

• Define train architecture and transversal performances (weight, gauge, ergonomics).
• Draft and manage the technical specification of provision, ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain layout designs for vehicle seating areas per standards.
• Monitor project KPIs and evaluate design constraints of SBS activities.
• Lead structural engineering activities, including co-design and welded carbody parts.
• Define mechanical interfaces of carbody shell and sub-systems.
• Perform requirements management using DOORS.
