RINA is recruiting a Junior Plan Approval Engineer to join the Trieste office in the Mediterranean and Africa Marine division. You will assist in elaborating detailed plans and design reviews for ships and offshore units, ensuring compliance with SOLAS, IMO and class rules.

The role offers a permanent contract, a starting gross salary of €30,000–€36,000 with annual incentives; a welfare package and opportunities to develop within a multinational environment.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Plan Approval Engineerto join its office in Trieste, Italy within theMediterranean and Africa MarineDivision.

Mission

This role focuses on supporting the elaboration of detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met.Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.

Key Accountabilities

• Review and approve drawings of safety, fire protection for ships and offshore units, on the basis of the assigned tasks.
• Review and approve drawings of lifesaving appliances and navigation lights for ships and offshore units, on the basis of the assigned tasks.
• Activities relevant to drawing approval for the issue of certificates for marine equipment for MED Directive and RINA Type Approval.
• Verification of the compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations (e.g. SOLAS Convention, COLREG Convention, National Flag requirements) for new buildings, ships in service, and ship's conversions.
• Assist clients providing guidance and support related to safety, fire protection, and lifesaving equipment. #LI-MP3

Qualifications

• Understanding of maritime safety regulations (SOLAS, IMO) and their application in the approval of safety plans for ships.
• Evaluate safety plans based on safety standards and regulations, ensuring proper implementation on ships.
• Knowledge of various safety systems on ships, including fire safety systems, life-saving appliances, and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Knowledge of the process of approving safety documentation for ships, including evaluating compliance with maritime safety regulations and recommending improvements.
• Ability to work closely with senior engineers and other stakeholders, providing support to ensure the safety plan approval process runs smoothly.
• Communication and reporting skills provide recommendations for safety improvements in compliance with regulations.

Master's Degree in Naval Engineering

Compensation Data

The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480).

The gross annual salary range foreseen is between € 30.000 and € 36.000 and will be finally defined on candidate's professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role.

In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.

The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company's welfare.
