RINA is seeking a Junior Naval Architect & Marine Engineer in Genoa, Italy, within the Plant Engineering Division. This role targets the protected-category designation under Italian Law 68/99 and involves contributing to marine and offshore projects.

The candidate will develop analyses for vessels and floating structures, perform studies with tools like Orcaflex and Ansys, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Travel to sites may be required.

Competenze

• Mandatory: Registered as protected category under Italian Law 68/99
• Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering or equivalent (1–2 years experience considered a plus)
• Awareness of Class Rules and International Standards (API, ISO, PIANC)
• Basic understanding of marine/offshore assets (FPSO, FSRU, FLNG, FPSO)
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Availability to travel in Italy and abroad

RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Naval Architect & Marine Engineer - Categorie Protette to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Plant Engineering Division.

Mission

Within RINA Consulting Engineering Department, we are looking for a Junior Naval Architect & Marine Engineer - Categorie Protette 68/99, to join the established Discipline named "Floaters" which deals with marine/offshore projects in several market sectors like Oil&Gas, Renewables and Maritime.

We are selecting a highly motivated engineer, registered as a protected category under italian Law 68/99, who would like to join a dynamic team based in Genova, willing to develop technical, managerial and soft skills competencies.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop engineering analyses relevant to design & consultancy for vessels, floating structures and floating terminals;
• Execute engineering studies with dedicated software (e.g., Optimoor, Orcaflex, Aqua, Ansys, Napa) for marine aspects, covering areas such as mooring, maneuvering, offshore design and marine operations in general;
• Carry out design and engineering consulting activities at different levels (concept selection, basic design, feasibility studies, FEED) relevant to nearshore and offshore projects;
• Review and analyze engineering documents, verifying compliance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards;
• Report and summarize the assigned projects;
• Assist in the review of technical documents during the bidding phase;
• Cooperate in drawing up technical-commercial proposals and technical papers;
• Work in multi-disciplinary projects, conducting specialist engineering studies and design activities in collaboration with other specialists and subcontractors;
• Assist in relationships with clients also through meetings or developing activities at their premises;
• Support the control of technical activities provided by sub-contractors and technical deliverables issued;
• Support the activities as member of the project team and assist Senior Engineers in solving technical problems arising during projects;
• Report to the Senior Colleagues and line Manager, providing updates on assigned tasks and project progress.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Qualifications

• Mandatory requirement: Registered as a protected category under Italian Law 68/99 (collocamento mirato)
• Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering, or equivalent Diploma (having 1-2 years of professional experience in marine and offshore projects/research programs will be considered as a plus);
• Awareness with Class Rules, International Standards (e.g., API, ISO, PIANC, Class Rules);
• Basic understanding of marine/offshore assets (such as FPSO, FSRUs, FLNGs, FSUs, CNG carriers, fixed platforms, Renewables Offshore Systems);
• Good knowledge of both spoken and written technical English;
• Availability to travel in Italy and abroad for short periods depending on project’s needs.

Compensation Data

The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480). The gross annual salary range foreseen is between €30000 and €38000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role. In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements. The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company’s welfare.
